Looking Forward—Looking Back: The Grieving Journey is the sequel to my first book, Lean on Me.
Losing a spouse, leaves a gaping hole in your life and your heart. As the world you knew crumbles around you, the need to identify with someone who understands is strong and you find yourself searching for words written by someone who has suffered as you are suffering, yet has somehow survived.
Looking Forward, Looking Back—The Grieving Journey was written with this in mind. Presented in the same style as my first book Lean on Me, Looking Forward, Looking Back combines helpful information and discussion along with an honest and moving account of my emotional journey, through the addition of excerpts and poems from my personal diary.
Written days, months and years after my husband died, these pieces portray the depth of my grief, my vulnerability as I found myself alone for the first time in my life and my growing strength as I used, the power of positive thinking to overcome my grief and go on to achieve things, I never thought possible.
Life is a precious gift that cannot last forever, nor can it be taken for granted.
At some time and in all probability, several times during our lifetime, we will find ourselves grieving for lost loved ones and looking for something to ease our pain.
Though everyone’s grief will be different, there is comfort in knowing that you are not alone.
I share my journey of grief and healing, in the hope of helping you to find the light at the end of the tunnel.
